You won't believe how easily a paper form turns electronic

Just put a form on your scanner and start OmniForm. A helpful wizard asks what you'd like to do and offers you several choices. Just click "Scan a form or image file," and watch as OmniForm operates the scanner, then analyzes the resulting form image for both text and form elements. Seconds later, there's the form on your computer screen, ready to be filled.

If you want to edit the form or correct any minor recognition errors, it's easy with OmniForm's powerful, intuitive design tools. These tools make form design and editing quick and easy and give you extensive control over the way your forms look and operate. Some tools give you simple ways to create fillable fields for your form, such as check boxes. Or they let you add text or graphics to the form. Other tools help you modify fields to make filling easier or to limit filling choices. For instance, you can build in calculations and spell-checking, or add drop-down lists. You can even insert movies or sound files to give users instructions on filling a form.

There are 13 design tools in the Drawing Toolbar on the left side of the OmniForm screen.

Text Tool The Text Tool. When you move the cursor over a form, the cursor's shape changes to a cross hair with an "A" attached. You can draw a box of any shape on the form and entertext in the box. The text will be a permanent part of the new form in Fill mode.
Fill Text Tool The Fill Text tool. When you move the cursor over the form, the cursor's shape changes to a cross hair with a box attached. You use it to draw a box that turns into a solid yellow box with a line under it. If you switch to Fill mode, this box becomes a fillable field that you can type in.
Draw Tools With the Line, Oval and Rectangle tools, you can draw corresponding shapes on the form.
Graphic Tool The Graphic tool lets you draw a box and then import a graphic into it in Design mode. This graphic will show up on every copy of the form in Fill mode.
Fill Graphic Tool A similar tool, the Fill Graphic tool, lets you draw a box in Design mode into which a graphic will be imported later while you are in Fill mode. In this case, each copy of the form in Fill mode can have a different graphic.
Comb Tool The Comb tool lets you draw a rectangle that contains a row of fillable boxes, for use when the field is to contain numeric data of a predictable length, such as Zip codes and telephone numbers. You do not have to tab from element to element in a comb field. OmniForm automatically moves the cursor to the next element as you type.
Check Box Tool
Circle Text Tool
The Check Box and Circle Text tools let you draw boxes and circles that will be used for choosing options on the form in Fill mode.
Table Tool The Table tool is for creating tables quickly. Drag diagonally with the left mouse button held down and you will see columns and rows appear automatically, with editable labels at the top of each column.
Lock Tool The Lock tool is used to lock any tool so it can be used multiple times. It is activated by clicking the Lock tool and then clicking the tool to be locked. The locked tool is unlocked by clicking the Lock tool again.
